From an abusive boss to corporate policies that sometimes take advantage of employees, the job scene can be discouraging and frustrating. Sometimes working conditions can also be dramatically unsafe as in the case of a building in Bangladesh that collapsed a few months ago and took the lives of many workers.
What if the Golden Rule ("Do unto others as you would have them do unto you") ruled the workplace? This rule is based on Christ Jesus' teaching that we should love our neighbors as ourselves, and it can help to improve your work life as you apply it in prayer. Want to know more about how to do that? Join this chat with a Christian Science healer and find out!
About Sarah Hyatt: Sarah is a Christian Science practitioner and teacher from Charleston, South Carolina. Sarah served for more than a decade on the Christian Science Board of Lectureship, sharing spiritual ideas of healing with audiences across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean.
In her practice of Christian Science, Sarah often finds topics of public interest that stir her to prayers of protest. Recently she has been praying about the working conditions for employees, not only in places such as Bangladesh where a clothing plant collapse brought the issue of substandard workplace safety to the forefront of thought, but throughout the world where workplace ethics fall far short of the Golden Rule.
