Nieuwe website ChristianScience.com

ChristianScience.com redesign: a healing opportunity

From the March 2016 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The Christian Science Board of Directors has given much thought and prayer to a new redesign of the primary website representing Christian Science online: christianscience.com. As of this writing, the new website is scheduled to launch sometime in the first half of 2016. I sat down with two people deeply knowledgeable about the redesign—Scott Preller, a member of the Board of Directors, who shared with us the Board’s thinking and vision for the website, and Marla Sammuli, the content curator for the website, who is responsible for overseeing the new website’s content and tone. They shared with me some inspiring ideas about the website and the importance of how Christian Science is presented online today.
With a new website launching, people will be wondering, “Why is this redesign happening? What’s the impetus for it?”
Scott Preller: The redesign was a Board of Directors initiative. One of the biggest reasons for it is that we want the website to be better at helping people quickly and efficiently find what they’re looking for on christianscience.com. The previous website had many strengths in that there was a lot of content that included helpful information about Christian Science. But it was also too busy. We want the website to represent Christian Science in an informative way, but in a way that is quiet and thoughtful and allows space for people to think about the message and pray with it.
