Poem

Answered prayer

From the May 2, 1994 issue of the Christian Science Sentinel
The family's all split up these days. Mom's gone, and Dad
just doesn't seem to care anymore—not really.
"FATHER-MOTHER GOD,"
It's lonely, and it's hard not to mean something to someone.
"LOVING ME,—"
My life is just a bad dream—sometimes it seems
like an unending nightmare!
"GUARD ME WHEN I SLEEP;"
Where do I go? What can I do?
"GUIDE MY LITTLE FEET"
Somewhere there must be harmony ... and peace.
"UP TO THEE."
Now, I see. In Your embrace we're always loved,
we're all Your children—together.
Note: The verses quoted are from a poem by Mary Baker Eddy, "Mother's New Year to the Little Children" (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 400).
