Each day is full of information competing for our attention—radio, TV, film, and the Internet are just some of the channels through which we're bombarded with messages that attempt to influence our thought. Some of these influences are good, some harmless, some not helpful at all. Have you asked yourself, “What is influencing me?” Mary Baker Eddy, a spiritual pioneer and author, wrote in her book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, “In a world of sin and sensuality hastening to a greater development of power, it is wise earnestly to consider whether it is the human mind or the divine Mind which is influencing one” ( pp. 82-83). We can all listen to God, divine Mind, throughout our day, letting the ideas this Mind is communicating to us influence our decisions.
To discuss this further join Christian Science practitioner Elizabeth Kellogg, who will answer questions on this topic and share how the Bible's teachings can help us be more alert to the harmful influences of the carnal mind, as well as the healing influence of the divine Mind.
