JSH-Online Live Audio Chat: Growing Church

The Christian Science Board of Directors
Chet Manchester, President of The Mother Church, hosting
Thursday, October 25, 2012
2:00 p.m.—3:00 p.m. EDT

Jesus expected his church to grow, even to thrive. Mary Baker Eddy prayed daily for the growth of "Christ's Christianity." But many Christian denominations, including the Church of Christ, Scientist, have faced decades of decline. How can this trend be reversed? What underlying issues need to be addressed? Are there any signs of church growth?

Bring your questions to this live Web chat with the Christian Science Board of Directors on Thursday, October 25, from 2 to 3 pm EDT (to find the time in your community go to World Clock).

You’re invited to prime the engines for this global discussion by replying to this e-mail and including your thoughts about the following questions:

  • What ideas do you have for church growth?
  • What's been most helpful to your church in addressing its challenges?
  • What’s your vision for church in the coming century?

Twenty-four hours ahead of time and during the chat, you can also use the question and comment boxes at to let us know your thoughts and questions. And if you are a subscriber to JSH-Online, you can comment there right now.
