Pregnancy and childbirth

 Sentinel Audio Chat
Audio begins on August 07, 2012 at 2:00 pm EDT. Please come back to hear the broadcast!
Pregnancy and childbirth are a natural part of life, and a new baby is welcomed into the family with such joy, but sometimes fears arise about possible complications or challenges. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, offers a healing perspective in her seminal work, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, including this wise directive: “To attend properly the birth of the new child, or divine idea, you should so detach mortal thought from its material conceptions, that the birth will be natural and safe” ( p. 463).
Join us in a live chat with Christian Science practitioner and teacher Sarah Hyatt to discover how fears and concerns relating to pregnancy and childbirth can be overcome and to make this a time of spiritual growth and joy for the whole family.
About Sarah Hyatt: Sarah is a Christian Science practitioner and teacher from Charleston, South Carolina. Besides having had two children of her own, she has helped numerous moms-to-be navigate the waters of pregnancy and childbirth, using the tools of Christian Science. Observing her own mom go through five pregnancies, Sarah wanted to gain a purer view of childbirth than what she had witnessed and seen accepted as normal by those around her. Her love for the Bible sent her on a deep dive into its teachings and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy on this topic.
That study and the resulting spiritual growth helped remove her own fears about the challenges often accepted as "par for the course" for pregnancy and childbirth.
Sarah served for more than a decade on the Christian Science Board of Lectureship, sharing spiritual ideas of healing with audiences across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean. She brings to this chat her love for Christian Science and her desire to aid others in finding the spiritual laws that can ease fears about pregnancy and childbirth and allow that experience to be the joyful one that our heavenly Parent intended.
