Why should I forgive?

Forgiveness isn't always easy, even when we know inside that it's something we need to do. For Jesus, forgiveness was an essential. He included it in the Lord's Prayer, and spoke of it more than a few times during his ministry. When his disciple Peter asked, "How many times should I forgive someone who does something wrong to me?" Peter proposed seven times as a good number. Jesus answered with 70 times 7 (Matt. 18:21,22, Contemporary English Version).
In this chat you'll learn about the spiritual benefits of forgiveness from an experienced Christian Science teacher and healer. Bring your questions so you can gain new insights into how to give up the burden of anger and hurt that may prevent forgiveness. As you drop the burden, you'll be able to move on to a more joy-filled life.
About Diane Marrapodi: Throughout her life, Diane has experienced, firsthand, the value of approaching life from the spiritual perspective taught by Christian Science. She cherishes the fact that God's love and the truth of Christian Science are unchanging, eternal, and universal—available to all. The Bible and Mary Baker Eddy's discovery of Christian Science, recorded in her book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, were the basis for Diane's reason for hope and healing of grief when she received word of her brother's suicide. Several years later, this same Science sustained her after a serious car accident, when the doctors who first treated her held out no hope that she would walk again or be in full possession of her mental faculties if she lived.
The constancy and effectiveness of Christian Science and its healing application led Diane, right out of college, to devote her life to its study, teachings, and public practice—serving first for a decade as a Christian Science nurse, and then as a Christian Science practitioner since 1981 and a teacher since 1985.
